Video Of The Day IAMNOONE
Started in 2019, Iamnoone, the Italian ‘Occult Dark Wave’ duo of kindred spirits Philippe Marlat and Stephan Seth, bonded over creating, their four studio albums, laced with shadowy, cold electronic-laden Post-punk sounds, and profound, earnest, unsettling yet stirring emotions, that embrace, seep and pierce through the haunting darkness with invigorating clarity.
The pair returns with a DIY Official Video for “MFM”, the title track of the new single via Cold Transmission Music, which includes a club-oriented remix by Ermete Lo Stige and the dreamlike, melancholic b-side, “The Preachers”.
“MFM tells a story many of us are living every day: we come face to face with our inner mirror and struggle with our darkness and our shadows.”
Like the soundtrack of a heady horror movie, unnerving and chilly gothic moods float with bouncy and buzzing urgent rhythm patterns, nervously throbbing under obsessive, glassy stabbing chords, and forlorn swathes of icy, glaring synths, whilst dual vocals of fearful, angsty disbelief, and harsh, dark whispers declare, ‘Is that me staring at me?’
The Official Video for “MFM” begins with the words “It’s happening again” printed beneath a person who is startled awake from a restless sleep by a shadowy figure standing at the foot of the bed. The nightmare continues in the bathroom as a look in the mirror shows another identity struggling for control of the body. After that, things get really weird, and it becomes difficult to tell who is who, until a real awakening occurs to reveal, “the owls are not what they seem.”
