In the wake of the first excerpt, “Alice”, from the forthcoming debut album, “Unparalleled”, Warsaw-based Shoegaze four-piece Midsommar, comprising Dawid Dziwosz, Karol Grabias, Bartek Zdunek, and new singer-songwriter Karolina Micula, delivers their second single, “Dive In.”
An expansive blend of sparkling, pensive shoegaze and cinematic post-rock ambience, a song about being overwhelmed and longing from the inside to be filled by another.
Subtly churned by a swaying backdrop of repetitive snare rolls and sinuous pulsing bass lines, wistful, dreamy female vocals lie gently, soaring high with clarity into a beautiful, heartfelt surrender, awash in rippling, crystalline guitar reflections, and stirring hazy atmospheric breezes of reverb-trembling, drifting strata, to permeate a welcome calm, tension releasing, ‘Dive-In’ immersion.
