WL//WH Track Of The Day MARINA YOZORA
Tokyo, Japan-born by the way of Houston and Ho Chi Minh, multi-cultural Dreampop singer and songwriter, currently based in London, Marina Yozora, delivers her first single of the year, “Snow Heat”, a textured ethereal shoegazing song about deeply missing someone and seamlessly burning into that particular feeling.

“Snow Heat” is a defining evolution in my sounds. It was composed 3 years ago, before I moved to London from Tokyo. What started as a demo in my bedroom turned into a track recorded in a recording studio with my bass player and drummer in Japan, and later, I sent the stems to my trusted mixing engineer in LA, and I directed it to make my visions for this track come true. After moving to London in 2024, I performed “Snow Heat” in many shows, and my listeners had been expressing their love for this song so much. The song evolved even further inside of me, so that I eventually recorded 4 different versions with the people I met in the UK/EU: a band version, a solo version, an acoustic version, and a violin/cello/acoustic version (recorded in Glasgow with the talented @mashazhrvlv @rebekah_the_cellist ). To shine each version delicately, I will release them one by one, separately, each month.Marina explains
“Snow Heat” unfolds slowly like a vivid reverie into an enveloping haze, where high, angsty, breathy female vocals drift on the trails of delicate, shimmery strumming, to swell, churned by plodding percussion, over lingering choppy and chilly waters of a washy, distorted guitar tapestry, to yearn restlessly, while wallowing in achingly simmering emotions.
