WL//WH Video Of The Day DIRTY SPANGLES
The elusive Brighton/Hastings, UK-based newcomer Dirty Spangles, a hazily hued Psychedelic/Shoegaze Indie two-piece made of Sarah Eaglestone (vocals, lyrics and guitars) and Nick Turner (guitars), with Graham Jones on keys and Charles Motorbike on drums, follow their dazzling debut single “Stormclouds,” we featured last month at this link, with its blurred atmospheric DIY visuals.

The video begins under dark indigo skies, where a wall of thick clouds rests on the horizon. Then, the sun rises and casts two playful shadows on a white fence, while an array of scenic overlays creates a flow of translucent motion over them. Like a movie projector, the scenes shift from a blurry twilight drive to a choppy water sea, a cabin in the woods, and an open country field with birds flying overhead. Sometimes the view is pure and deep without interference, whilst at other times the shadow becomes the lens to the vision, syncing seamlessly with the thought-provoking lyricism: “Don’t lose heart, We’ll take the smooth with the rough.”
