WL//WH Review KRIMEA

On April 10th, KRIMEA from Venice (Italy) self-released their excellent debut album “Are You Human?”.
The band consists of two good musicians, two skilled players: Alice Taylor (keys, synth, voice), and Nick SoLow (voice, bass, synth). Their debut album features 12 complete and aesthetically thrilling musical pieces in the electrowave and new wave styles. As this music evolves over the years, it subtly transitions into cold wave, while also embracing elements of darkwave.
Don’t be surprised if, at some point, KRIMEA‘s music starts to resemble synthwave or melancholic pop too. They incorporate a variety of styles in their music, and it’s clear they shine at whatever they choose to create, all while maintaining a clear vision.
The puzzle will appear more beautiful and improved by adding what I read in the press release regarding the name chosen by the duo from Venice:
One notable characteristic of KRIMEA, as I gather from listening to their album and considering the details surrounding it, is that they don’t just create music; rather, they often serve as a “record keeper” of real-life situations. This is what art is all about. Through their work, they capture the vibrant essence of life as seen from the perspective eye of Venice—exploring themes of love, death, passion, as
There are, of course, some other songs that reveal some slightly darker intentions, some songs that will be played (and dance to) in other places very late at night, behind the mystery of the “veil” of the night. Try “Vivre Le Sombre”, or “Lunar Atmosphere”, and “Ghost Town” too.
Basically, what I suggest is just put the album on, and it will show you your favorite tracks at the end, and believe me, you won’t just have 1-2 tracks to remember from this debut album. It’s not like a postcard collection; it’s not a “greatest hits album”, these 12 tracks are the personal experience of KRIMEA, and that alone is worth studying at home.
So, here is the debut “Are You Human?” LP by the Italian duo KRIMEA, press play please!!!
Keep up with Krimea:
