WL//WH Premiere VIOLET NOX

WL//WH is pleased to welcome Violet Nox, the Experimental Electronic trio from Boston, Massachusetts made of Dez DeCarlo (Synthesis, effect pedals), Andrew Abrahamson (Synthesis, samples, clocked machines), and Noell Dorsey (vocals and lyrics), back to the blog for a video premiere, created by Debstep, for “Whisper”, the third song on last December’s six-track album “Silvae”, via Somewherecold Records (US) and Aumega Project (Germany).
Tight and claustrophobic, yet equally uncannily echoing and expansive, “Whisper” builds an immersive ambience that ceaselessly pulses through loose, crisply muffled shuffling beats, disrupted by a surreal synth-laced array of jittery droning low end loops, piercing, glass-pointed drops, desolate buzzing swells and harsh jagged stabs, juddering and strobing against gentle, brooding female vocals, powerfully soaring with unchained passion before falling helpless, through a distorted interlude, into the droning echoes of a cavernous pit.
The paired visuals by Debstep, combine underground subway clips with symbolic colorful animations and fluid psychedelic perception to sync with the metaphysical journey explored in the soundtrack. As flowers hypnotically spin counterclockwise, an ascension, up an escalator, through a deep jewel-toned area ends in a monochromatic city where skyscrapers loom on the horizon under a grey-violet sky.
Keep up with Violet Nox:
