Weekly Shoegaze / Dreampop / Psychedelic / Indie Tips – MARCH #10-22
PICKS OF THE WEEK:
- Banten, Indonesia alt /shoegaze /indie rock band F E E Z E “Feels Bad” new single
Indonesian 4-piece’s new single delivers an enticing noisy guitar-driven indie-rock son of the 90s, rife with epic tones and deep melancholy, that sways heavily along winding fuzzy guitar riffs, and excruciating screeching leads, echoing atop the aching hope of anxious vocals longing in helpless harmonies for the dawning of a new day.
- Tokyo, Japan dream pop /shoegaze band RE:LAPSE “Timeless Melody” from “re:lapse II.” EP on DREAMWAVES RECORDS
Featuring For Tracy Hyde’s Azusa Kan on synth and arrangments, the first track unveiled from the second EP by Japanese outfit channels JAMC’s “Just Like Honey” vibes through slow paced, dreamlike sullen atmosphere, wistful muted melodies and dense yet subdued coatings of shoegazing guitar distortion, layering dreamy brittle bittersweet harmonies with restrained fuzzy guitar feedback flows, imbued in lush reverb-ridden melancholic mists and droning frequencies, to carry high ethereal cries of hypnotic allure and forlorn longing into the tragic beauty of “Timeless Melodies.”
- US modern Grunge /Shoegaze band from Southeastern Kentucky, KANASHII “Afterglow” single on Cardigan Records
Grounded on equal parts of the dismal gloom and seething energy of Alice In Chains-like evocative grunge, and fuzzy shoegaze haze, streaks with sick melodies, the new single from Kentucky‘s 4-piece unleashes turbulent drumming to propel an abrasive swarm of reverberated expanding mist over heavy grinding distorted guitar lines, whilst fierce emotional vocals rise and fall in angsty mental states to deliver a haunting lyrical confession of depression and shame.
