WL//WH Weekly Post-Punk // Darkwave // Dark Synth Tips – APRIL 2026 – #15-26

It’s the 9th consecutive season for Mike D (longtime editor of the WL//WH team) on-air, with Wave After Wave radio program this year relocated to the internet station DarkwaveRadio.Net Every Tuesday, Live at 22.00 (EET) / 21.00 (CET)

PICKS OF THE WEEK:

  • Madison, Wisconsin disco noir /synth-pop singer-songwriter and producer Carrellee “Edge of Heaven” (featuring My Manifesto) single

Wisconsin‘s dark and ethereal Synth-Pop songstress teams up with Pennsylvania-based artist and producer My Manifesto for the equally glittering and buzzing, vibrant nocturnal number which winds through a pulsing, ominous and sultry beat-driven synthetic groove that engulfs lush, breathy high-pitched female vocals, and devotional male back-ups, in the desperate longing and shame-filled agony found at “The Edge of Heaven.”

  • Goth /Darkwave artist Elezoria “Elegy” new single featuring female-fronted synthpop project Expiring Timet [skyQode]

Merging Elezoria’s atmospheric intensity and emotional depth with Laly Fox’s ethereal vocals, the heart-rending electronic darkwave ballad “Elegy” reflects on the quiet struggle to survive in a world growing colder and darker. Crisp drum patterns stumble alongside a mean flickering bass line and haunting, tragic synth melodies while anxiety-inducing storming textures swirl and swish around layers of breathless, frightened female vocals, and urgent male backups, unto a wistful piano outro underpinned by sadness and doom.

  • Los Angeles-based dark synthpop trio of Adam Collier (Beautiful Crisis, SilverScene), Brian Belknap (Mind Machine) & Omar Quiñones (Vain Machine), Blaklight “Cruel (Vioflesh Remix)” from “Cruel” Maxi Single

Paired with a murkier, buzzier and bouncier remix by Chilean Darkwave duo Vioflesh, LA act’s new single talks about being betrayed by, and feeling like a fool at, the behest of love, laced with tightly knit dance dynamism and a flair for lovelorn drama. Driving programmed beats, and droning bass pulses, layered with trembling, tinkling stabs, and epic, shivering forlorn arpeggios, carry layers of flat, wistful, haunted vocals, backed by soaring anxious cries, through cloudy feelings of anger, bitterness, and regret.
