WL//WH Premiere: MODERN TIME MACHINES “No Heart of Gold” (Music Video)

WL//WH Premiere    Modern Time Machines

Modern Time Machines, the veteran Los Angeles, California-based Psych-tinged Shoegazers, return with a newly expanded lineup comprised of longtime members Ben Golomb (guitar, vocals), Michael Morgan (drums), Olya Volkova (bass, vocals), colored with the addition of Diana Christine Hereld (vocals), and Arlene Ziordia (Flute), to unveil the DIY Music Video, directed by Ben Golomb himself, and filmed by Paulina Berlin, for the new single, “No Heart of Gold,” which WL//WH is very pleased to premiere.

Laced with feelings of disappointment, longing, waiting, and hope, the slow-burning song engrosses with a hypnotic widespread and atmospheric textural quality, laying out a gentle psychedelic shimmer that glides over an ever-expanding, twilit skyline, stirred by shuffling rhythms and piercing emotional layers of ringing and wailing guitars, radiating like lambent lightning, around a fusion of sad, caressing vocals, aching before rising into a ghostly siren-esque croon in sync with low fluted melodies, to soar into a towering searing instrumental surge of transcendental catharsis.

I’m actually wearing my late friend Allee Willis’ shoes in the video – I was able to get them at her estate sale. Allee herself had worn them at our songwriting session together on our last single, “Ornamental.”says Ben

In the visuals, directed by Ben himself, a dim bar lounge sets the intimate backdrop for Modern Time Machines as they perform “No Heart of Gold under evocative purple lighting. The hazy atmosphere captures the psychedelic trails and reflections of subtle sunlight whilst also casting deep shadows onto the wall, seamlessly syncing with the inner turmoil of the soundtrack.

Modern Time Machinessingle release show will take place on April 19, with their friends Giant Waste of Man, at Gold Diggers in Los Angeles.

Keep up with Modern Time Machines:
