Utrecht-based Dutch DJ and club event organizer spins Disco-influenced music with a darker twist, spanning from Italo Disco, Indie Dance, to Dark Disco, some trance vibes and everything in between, as displayed by this summer’s two-hour eclectic night-closer set recorded at Discoteca Volta‘s first clubnight at Teatro, Utrecht (NL).

Infused with glimmers of spiritual jazz, Fourth World music, and musique concrète, the French musician uses improvised sequences on expired cassettes, synthetic manipulation, and his distinctive emotional clarinet work to create a peculiar, unsettling hypnotic headspace through the interplay and layering of silky clarinet flutters, broken-down percussive patterns and ghostly hissing frequencies, where haunted melody, measured dissonance, misfiring and collapsing incongruent percussions coexist in a precarious yet fascinating balance with a vaguely surreal flair.
