In the end of the year period of, often too many unuseful, playlists and overviews, no one can deny that the best bright newcomer in the post punk / cold synth camp or whatever dark you wanna call it, is the young Northern German musician, singer, songwriter Anna Ninn, aka None, recently based in Berlin. In less than one year our artist has amazingly released 4 full lengths and 7 EP’s, and I challenge anyone to detect any completely flaw, just to say prolific would be an understatement.
Time has gone by so quickly since her early completely DIY bedroom experiments and not satisfied with having just released a new album ‘Poison’ out for one of two most forward-thinking labels around, Barcelona’s Unknown Pleasures (CD) and Berlin’s Black Verb (cassette), here is the black & white visuals, taken from 1921’s Hans Richter‘s abstract movie, of a new track from the forthcoming album ‘Decem’ out soon on Bristol’s Death Of A Factor cassette label
‘The Void’ is an atmospheric, hypnotic and introspective journey into the darker places of the human soul built on the usual minimal instrumentation of synth, bass, drum machine together with her ice-cold vocals , in the None’s quality trademark : intensity, deepness, tension, gloom, sensuality, vulnerability, restlessness and, above all, unique and precious talent and inspiration.
Keep up with None :
