Born in 2020 from a mere concept by Los Angeles-based musician and composer Ryan Silo (Vox/Guitars) to channel his ‘passion for the sonic textures of Shoegaze, the melodic atmosphere of Dream pop, and the emotional tones of Post-punk’, only in late 2022 Fairfields took a full form with the addition of kindred music spirits Jayd Abellaneda (Drums/Producer) and childhood friend Yani Dy (Bass).
The first drop, “Strangers”, with seemingly more to come, delivers an introspective and melodic Dream-Pop with dazzling Shoegaze streaks, a sparkling yet muffled misty sound, through a hypnotic, enveloping continuous succession of light and shadows, reminiscent of DIIV and Beach Fossils with a dash of The Cure.
A reflection of regret leads to the dramatic step of running away.
Effect-driven searing guitar lines soar with unyielding passion, over steady skipping drums and murmuring basslines, pierced by wistful strings of crystalline ripples and iridescent reverberations atop sad alienated vocals, dropping weary, agonized breaths of poignant pain into an excruciating outpour of shattered dreams.
Keep up with Fairfields:
