WL//WH Premiere: MADISINE Explores the Danger of a Fast Paced Lifestyle in “Slow Down” (Official Video)

WL//WH Premiere  MADISINE

Born in 2023, Madisine is the up-and-coming solo project of Bologna, Italy-based dynamic artist and ‘sad song maker’ Matteo Zanotti, who delivers a captivating foretaste of the anticipated debut full-length album slated for release sometime in the year 2025, with an Official Video, directed by Louis Conte-Bourges & Matteo Zanotti himself, for the new single “Slow Down”, WL//WH is pleased to premiere.

Madisine’s unique blend of introspective lyrics, innovative soundscapes, and genre-defying style is a journey of self-exploration, musical experimentation, and emotional depth. With influences ranging from ‘90s Indie Rock to the hypnotic sounds of Shoegaze, the project brings together a fresh, original sound with a raw and authentic approach to songwriting.

“Slow Down” is an alternative rock track influenced by Dream Pop and Shoegaze. It explores themes of anxiety and the internal struggle of confronting your fears.

Wistful, scared vocals of deeply felt emotional pain beg another to please “Slow Down”, trembling on bittersweet tinkly piano keys that weave and alternate obsessively with introspective, poignant guitar melodies through low nervous, pulsing heartbeats and heavy stomping, stumbling percussions, while distorted, ripping slivers of bleeding strains ebb and flow with agonizing intensity.

The Official Video by Louis Conte-Bourges & Matteo Zanotti himself plays like a tragic Hollywood movie about addiction, syncing craftily with the soul-stirring lyrics and the soundtrack. Matteo Zanotti and Méliana Roman portray a romantic couple whose out-of-control drug use takes over their entire existence, leaving them more dead than alive. On top of the on-point acting by the duo, the thoughtful application of symbolic colors, mood-shifting lights, and accelerated momentums pulls the viewer into the trauma on a subconscious level.
