For more than a decade, LG Galleon has been the guiding voice behind Dead Leaf Echo, the Brooklyn art-rock collective whose reverb-drenched blend of shoegaze, dream pop, and post-punk earned them comparisons to Spiritualized, The Cure, and Cocteau Twins, drew in collaborators like 4AD producer John Fryer and designer Vaughan Oliver, and saw them repeatedly tour the US, Europe, and Latin America. More recently, he also fronted the Brooklyn post-punk outfit Clone, with their Martin Bisi-recorded debut “CL. 1. “

The New York-based musician and composer drops his first single, “Hello Mephisto”, an early foretaste from the forthcoming first solo full-length album, “I Am Your Pity,” scheduled for this Fall on Bandcamp, digital streaming platforms, and on limited-edition vinyl, via Lost In Ohio.

“Hello Mephisto” takes its own dramatic turn. It opens on a peal of sad, gothic bells, backed by strumming acoustic guitars. Where Dead Leaf Echo bury feeling beneath cathedral layers of distortion and reverb, here LG pours that same charge into acoustic form, all without losing an ounce of edge or atmosphere. It’s a Faustian devotional: surrender and freedom collapsed into the same breath.

A greeting to the beast Mephisto, who comes with a fury of anger and freedom, when a loved one says it is over,

sets a doomy, droning, tension-building angst fueled by jagged, scraping, strummed guitar riffs, grounded by the resonant percussive stabs of metallic thudding tolls, amidst which emotional vocals agonize into an epic interlude where restrained twisted, caterwauling strains screech outward, finally bursting in a strangled release.

LG Galleon‘s debut single, “Hello Mephisto,” arrives everywhere digitally tomorrow on August 13, 2026, via Lost In Ohio.
