WL//WH New Music: PEAK FLOW “Never Coming Down” single

New Music  Peak Flow

On October 30th, the Post-punk duo Peak Flow (James and Jools) from Doncaster, UK, unveiled their new single/video “Never Coming Down”.

Active since 2023, Peak Flow offer up pure and, at times, heartfelt Post-punk/Gothic Rock gems. It comes as no surprise that they have a firm grasp of the foundations upon which their band is built; after all, they are English musicians who respect and pay homage to the heritage of their country’s dark alternative music scene.

A fine, haunting track, featuring highly distinctive hooks throughout, a piece that delivers exactly what the artists themselves, and indeed all the “bats” across the globe, (surely) hope for: the evolution of this particular musical genre, moving easily beyond the “prescribed” norms. It brings in an eerie breeze of “suspicious” air and fearless ideas, while remaining firmly rooted in the scene’s melancholic grey atmosphere – a music aesthetic they not only command but truly embody.

The press kit underlines:

Musically, Peak Flow mirrors that inner contradiction through a contrast of infectious synth hooks, heavy distortion, and misery-soaked fuzz. The result is a sonic experience that feels soaring and euphoric, yet hauntingly uneasy beneath the surface.

In the Official Music Video, Peak Flow performs “Never Coming Down” in a graveyard under transformative editing. The contrast is skewed to the dark side, and shadows lurk in almost every setting, whilst a rapid, jittery flow of motion creates a strobing effect around symbolic imagery. All the while, cut scenes show a crowned woman, in a dark basement, holding a crystal ball amidst disconnected frequencies, bringing forth the conflict of excitement and fear explored by the soundtrack. Peak Flow‘s new single, “Never Coming Down,” is out from today across all major streaming platforms today.

Keep up with Peak Flow:
