On November 28, the significant French act Corpus Delicti released the highly anticipated fourth album “Liminal”. The renowned band from Nice, France, has navigated various phases throughout their career, and they enjoy unwavering support from their devoted fans and beyond. They released a comprehensive new album featuring 10 tracks that truly define the genre they stand for. It is a standout album, a true gem in their discography.

Deathrock, post-punk, gothic rock, all darkwave-oriented music, and all through their unique artistic lens. Corpus Delicti has a distinct artistic perspective, giving them a unique advantage. They gained significant attention immediately after releasing their first album at the dawn of the ’90s, and since then, every new release sparks discussions around their name. We genuinely love their work; it’s the truth.

This band consistently showcases new facets of itself without many limitations, expressing its unique passion for their music with respect. Their music resonates with many people, which explains the strong support they receive, and quite rightly so. Corpus Delicti is one of the most straightforward bands in the dark alternative front.

The first single, “Room 36”, reveals a haunting and powerful atmosphere, elevated by a collaboration with contemporary “polydisciplinary” artist Jean-Luc Verna, whose artwork graces the album cover. Verna also appears in the music video, creating a visual mise en abyme that blends contemporary art with a dark, avant-garde aesthetic.

There are 3 more leading tracks with official videos from their new LIMINAL LP: “Chaos”, “Out Of Steam”, and “Fate”, which is my chosen track on the album.

The new album features 10 distinct ‘episodes,’ each representing a unique situation along with its signature music and lyrics. It offers an enjoyable and valuable listening experience from start to finish. Corpus Delicti are true masters of their riffs and narratives, and they’ve consistently excelled in the orchestration of their songs since their beginning as an act. All of this leads me to believe that “LIMINAL” LP is undoubtedly one of the best albums of 2025. It is an album you can easily listen to multiple times, and rather than becoming tiresome, it captivates you more with each listen, revealing its value and depth in the songs. In conclusion, it’s important to note that we are not witnessing the return of Corpus Delicti, but rather the continued evolution of this significant band.

This, above all, brings me great joy!!!

Keep up with Corpus Delicti:
