Since the early onset, we have followed the Virginia goth rockers’ developing path, by now firmly established as one of the most genuine purveyors of the gothic rock revival of recent years. Equally intense and melodic, while channeling the classic genre’s tropes, Sonsombre always manages to create morbidly compelling atmospheres of unfathomable lugubrious and romantic darkness. The midtempo new single “Everdark”, swathed in a mystical aura, dives into the haunting cycle of death and destruction that lies within us all, by weaving searing and weeping layers of guitars and buzzy distortions around Sonsombre’s signature grave vocal brooding to evoke a timeless sense of haunting pain and desolation.

UK Coldwave trio deliver a moody, atmospheric Synth-laden cut of epic lovelorn drama, where a romance intertwines with the city at night, shrouded in a rarefied, glowing haze of jiggling ethereal guitars and liquid swirling synths that wander over taut, relentlessly pounding drum patterns, to provide a passionate yet desolate backdrop for a solemn baritone adoration.

Recorded over the winter, handling an array of worn synthtetizers, vintage drum machines and organic bass/guitar, “Thru My Head” is a “goth-wave ode to the gray of winter and the longing for brighter days”, that bounces through a swaying, snappy drum machine and tightly throbbing, broody bass lines with layered, echoing wistful synth flows alongside an obsessively urgent, twisting chord progression, to slowly submerge softly sung, anxious vocals with clouds and shadows of dread. Tense, emotional and alluring, the track harmonizes the nostalgic, shady moods with vibrant dancing energy to offer a cozy, stirring refuge amidst the unease.
