Within a handful of singles the Scottish act churned out intoxicating spells of Modern Darkwave through a nocturnal, pulsating sound that blends stark EBM propulsive drive, hauntingly melodic swirling synth-pop and frosted industrial clattering, to create fiercely stark atmospheres of absorbing sensual allure, ingrained in hypnotic compulsory rhythms and a magnetic, visceral and lusty vocal delivery that, as in “Punisher”, taunts and coerces with agonized breaths of robotic obsession and aloof desperation.

The Warsaw-based post-punk solo project Laz Flores returns, after a three-year-long break, this time teaming up with DeliriousMatt, to bring a new single about feeling depressed and alone until the memory of a cherished loved one ignites hope. The track combines racy rhythms, fuzzy driving basslines and swirling poignant ringing guitars with an uplifting atmospheric vocal interplay, where a high-pitched, fragile sadness achingly strains to rise, and join with a smooth, heart-warming baritone sky, unto a glitchy, bouncing, key grounded finale of triumphant, unified cries.

The ice-cloaked collaboration between the two Paris-based artists continues in the new single “Répression”, which explores the barren inner realms of light and shadow. A relentless stark lashing drum machine and ominous, throbbing bass lines churn into a murky pool of swelling droning darkness, from which painful, swirling vortices of blunt, excruciating weeping guitars, painfully resonate against aching, shallow male vocals, struggling for depth before turning distorted amidst clear, haunted baritones, to bring forth ideas of emptiness, blindness, yearning and sacrifice.
