WL//WH is pleased to welcome the Chicago native, who now lives in a cabin somewhere in the Pacific Northwest woods, experimental singer, songwriter and sonic witch, Kelli Frances Corrado, back to the blog with a premiere of “Falling Tree Story”,

a haunting, genre-defying composition fusing avant-folk textures, ambient ritualism, and cinematic tension.

In an attempt to heal from the hopelessness and confusion caused by the chaos of the PNW wildfires and the COVID lockdown, Kelli Frances Corrado releases the first song from a new body of work, “Falling Tree Story.”

The song uses Kelli‘s observations of large trees that fall due to small roots and oversaturation as a metaphor for having one’s world turned upside down and not knowing what to do. It is a story of empowerment and embodiment, written in B scale to strengthen the intuition of the third eye for guidance, understanding, and catharsis.

The track is a slow-burning sonic ritual – blending ethereal vocals, layered field recordings, and vintage instrumentation, all wrapped in an atmosphere of mysticism and emotional rawness. It’s ideal for listeners who appreciate music that lives between song and séance. Recorded and produced by Corrado in her PNW woody cabin with help from Jeffery Mcnulty as co-producer and Bobby Wane on guitar.

In “Falling Tree Story”, beautiful operatic folk vocals bloom into vibrant emotional waves that strongly yet patiently soar before cascading over a timeless realm of dull organic sparkling arpeggios and Bobby Wane‘s stirring guitar arrangements to evoke a sense of sadness and heartache, longing and transformation, loss and reconnection.

Kelli Frances Corrado‘s new single, “Falling Tree Story,”  will be released on August 2, 2025, on a limited run of smoky grey 7″vinyl. Available on pre-order via Bandcamp.
