Witness. is the collaborative project of Steve, known also for his solo endeavour Sea Shapes, and Emanuel, two buddies based in Queens, New York.
Blending familiar atmospheric elements drawing from Post-punk, Wave and Indie Rock, the band crafts intoxicating and touchingly emotional, catchy, shimmering songs, to surround the listener in a nostalgic, dream-like ambience.
The latest and third single, “Culdesac”, unfolds steady hypnotic beats and humming meandering bass lines, to outline soothing melancholic melodies radiated by a spiraling spiderweb of highly effected, echoing glistening guitars, that light the stretched darkness around wistfully delivered disconnected spoken words, releasing doubt and angst, while trying to get away from a blind alley, by opening the heart and trusting.
