Utolsó Hullám, the four-piece Hungarian Dark Post Punk / Gothic Rock unit from Budapest made of Jakab, (Motyó) Árpád (vocals, guitars // ének, gitár), Némedi Tamás (guitar // gitár), Szegi, Csongor (bass // basszusgitár), and Buda, Richárd (synth, drum machine // szintetizátor, dobgép), returns to WL//WH with an Official Video by Tim Hagberg and Luca Kovács for the latest single, “Egy elfelejtett csók | A Forgotten Kiss,” released in December 2024.
A heart-wrenching song about a lost love and the inability to let go, “A Forgotten Kiss” weaves haunting, pain-filled guitar melodies with muted dramatic glowing synths, underlied by ominously murmuring bass lines and a tight, stark drum machine, poignantly wailing and trembling along with with desperate, atmospheric vocals, slowly swelling into a fuller aching emotional intensity.
Black and white visuals by Tim Hagberg and Luca Kovács show a distressed, brooding man get stuck inside his head whilst remembering many of the intimate moments he spent with his ex-girlfriend in the past. It is really sad to see how purposeful and happy his face was before the break-up, as compared to the nervous, chain-smoking wreck he is today. The end of the clip is a trip with a twist ending that seamlessly blurs the lines between fantasy and reality.
