Video Of The Day FRANTIC CHANT
Frantic Chant, the long-running Psychedelic Rock ‘n’ Roll band from Edinburgh, Scotland, drops a thought-provoking video for the new ‘groovalicious’ new single “The Crumbler”, taken from a forthcoming, yet untitled, album via the local label Dogs Got A Bone, the follow-up to the 2014 fourth full-length, “humbumcheekumbas.”
“Just keep your sunlight shining on / Just keep your starlight shining on.”
“The Crumbler”, an introspective Baggy fueled Psychedelic number imbued with illumination, reflection, and steadfastness, about letting your light shine, wobbles on a slinky, trance-like bongo-laced percussion groove alongside gloomy, lithe bass pulses, perpetually shuffling below persistent shimmery scraping strums, woven with wistful vibrant and jagged guitars, that hover, stir, and sharply radiate with piercing, wailing intensity around layers of heartfelt nostalgic male vocals, echoing, sadly yet hopefully, into an ever expanding, horizon of transformative emotions.
The paired visuals for “The Crumbler” use vintage choreography saturated in varying degrees of color to bring forth the unwavering nature of the soundtrack. Women from the Sixties era dance around a big mushroom while red and white squares flash, causing perception to invert over the entire landscape. This strobing shift, from dark to white, alters perception and creates a dull, eerie vision. At 4:20, yellow and blue palettes enter the sequence to build more dye combinations that elicit a vivid, fluid spectrum of wholeness, interconnectedness, depth, and growth.
Keep up with Frantic Chant:
