WL//WH Track of the Day: HOLOGRAPH “Milk & Lemon”

Track of the Day   HOLOGRAPH

Holograph, the Goth-hearted Post Wave collective based in Amsterdam, led by the Cape Town, South Africa-born founding members Warren Fisher (Guitar) and Ines Southscka (Vox, Synth & Lyrics), have released the new single “Milk & Lemon”, the first of five songs the band recorded since relocated to the Netherlands, as part of an upcoming EP via the independent label  The Good Times Co.

The song is about the trial and tribulations of finding one’s feet in a foreign place. It’s about not giving up and trusting the process.

After the last end-of-the-year atmospheric and reflective “Green Sky, “Milk & Lemon” pulses on more tensely cathartic post-punk territories with tightly pounding drums,  grimy, fuzzed-out bass riffs and evocative shivering synths steering a winding, sparkling streak of piercing, angular guitar melodies, achingly resonating around vibrant, controlled, slightly sung female vocals layered with dreamy allure and baritone echoes, palpitating with feelings of wisdom, determination, patience, and growth.
