WL//WH New Music: THE WIND-UPS “Pain In The Heart” (Official Video)

New Music   The Wind-Ups

The Wind-Ups, a three piece power trio led by frontman/ringleader Jake Spreacher from Chico, California, drops an Official Video by Jesse Hall for the blistering Pain In Your Heart”, “a punk rock song for the emotionally in-tune primitive”, taken from the recently released third studio album “Confection”, via Dandy Boy Records.

The band mix a caustic and growling Punk attitude with the penchant for writing abrasive and concise, seamlessly catchy, action-packed Power-Pop burners.

I wrote the song around the drum rhythm in the verses. I really like the straight-but-deceptive beat in 6. ‘Pain in your heart / and out through the back’ is a simple sentiment, but what really seems to grab people is screaming the Laverne &  Shirley line. That’s easily one of the best TV theme songs of all time, and the 40+ crowd definitely seems to agree. Haha. As for the video itself, I give all props to Jesse Hall from XDS, whose chaotic visual style is perfect for this track.says frontman Jake Spreacher

Heartache drives high-octane, rumbling drum beats under a nagging, distorted chant that builds into a primal scream amid waves of chaotic, ear-piercing, fuzzed-out riffs, shrilling slivers and creeping bass throbs, to unleash pent-up tension into a tumultuous, manic burst of cathartic nostalgia.

Trippy psychedelic visuals directed by Jesse Hall apply kaleidoscopic configurations and blurry visions over the ‘wild antics’ of The WindUps as they performPain In Your Heart in sync with the soundtrack.

The Wind-Ups‘ 11-track, third album, “Confection”, is out now, on Vinyl 12″ & Digital, via Dandy Boy Records.
