Mexico City-based Goth Darkwave band Vita Aeterna, started in mid-2024 as the solo project of guitarist and singer Ernesto Alejandro, have released an Official Video for their single “Perpetua Nox.”
“Perpetual Nox” is an eerie, melancholic tragedy that places tormented, brooding male vocals in between an air of sinister wailing guitar melodies woven with swirling forlorn synth shivers and a foundation of stacked marching beats and droning bass lines, to create a liminal purgatorial realm where vibrant yet ghostly female pain achingly echoes eternal suffering.
In the visuals, Vita Aeterna performs “Perpetua Nox” with an edgy, heartfelt intensity. A theatrical set combines with dramatic acting and an imaginative use of lights and shadows to bring forth the macabre, in between, space of the soundtrack. The symbolic props, a rosary, inverted lighting, and an unusual throne chair, pique curiosity whilst enhancing the harrowing Gothic vibe.
