The Swiss darkwave artist returns with a thoroughly mesmerizing ghostly industrial-dusted EP. Besides an electrifying dance-floor ready remix, the opening track, “Found life,” exudes a dark driving energy that effortlessly pulses a cavernous and pervasive coolness through tight, stark and clattering drum patterns, ominous buzzy bass rumbles, and droning surges of keen, wheezing lashes, sinisterly ricocheting atop deeply hued ghostly female vocals, hauntingly explaining loss, pain, and aimlessness.

Enigmatic Italian outfit’s debut is a hypnotic dive into the gloomy depths of the dark, decadent and grim strains of the ‘80s goth-infused post punk and darkwave. Drums pound unflinchingly alongside a murky and gritty throbbing bassline, swelling with unhealthily gritty gloominess around raspy, effect-filled guitars, reverberating jagged, sharp-edged aching pain against sad, agonized vocals, diverting to devilish distortions, to explore childhood trauma and the Hell that follows.

• French minimal cold-synth wave project from Jean-Christophe Goleau and Pascal Fauchard, two members of cult synth-punk D Stop (just before the former will start his celebrated neo-classical darkwave endeavour Collection D’Arnell Andrea), LES VISITEURS DU SOIR “Je t’écris d’un pays pas ordinaire” from the only unreleased album “1984” LP [Meidosem Records / Infrastition]

Great maneuvers in the Meidosem Records camp with three releases by September: the mini album by SYR (a side project of early 80s coldwavers Guerre Froide) and the second album by Lyon‘s goth/post-punk act SPLEEN XXX, peppered with a real treat for the devotees of obscure cult bands from minimal synth pioneering days: the unreleased one-and-only album by Les Visiteurs Du Soir, with their classic cold synth wave sound, seminal and timeless in its own way. Probably pulling their name from the title of the previous Synth-Pop duo Mathématiques Modernes‘ 1981 album, the group’s “je t’écris d’un pays” already stood out on a Born Bad Records‘ French Synth-Wave compilation from several years ago with its crisp and slinky dancing rhythms, throbbing electro grooves, harmonious swirling synths and highly evocative vocals. Not to be missed!
