WL//WH Video Of The Day: TERMINAL SERIOUS “Sewn Eyelids”

Video Of The Day   TERMINAL SERIOUS

Terminal Serious, the solo project of the Florence, Italy-based multi-instrumentalist and composer Luigi Buonaiuto, introduces his usual captivating blend of 80s tinged Post-punk and Dark Wave, with newfound synth-laden Cold Wave nuances, in the first preview, “Sewn Eyelids,” from the upcoming third full-length album, “Tear You Away,” scheduled for October 3, 2025 via Swiss Dark Nights label, accompanied with a video by Studio Nubes.

An album with a more wave sound than the previous album. For the first time Terminal Serious gives up the electric bass in its rhythms to prefer old Roland analog synthesizers; the guitar sound has also changed, once the overdrive is permanently turned off the sound becomes more elegant and refined.

Wrapped in thoughtful, brooding moods, “Sewn Eyelids” elicits nervous, tight drum beats and droning bass throbs, to urgently vibrate and pound under emotional, melancholic washes of glistening, bleeding guitar melodies and desolate synths, as earnest baritone vocals, reveal how habitual lies lead to spiritual blindness.

Pride and shame, envy and boredom, fear and loneliness, dependence and incontinence; recurring emotions, moods, and thoughts that tear you away from serenity with explosive force. A journey through the pain and contradictions of everyday life that nevertheless delivers a message of hope and rebirth.

Esoteric visuals by Studio Nubes use liquid and red-stained filters over Terminal Serious as he performs “Sewn Eyelids” with his guitar under a mix of lights and shadows. A slew of interpretive symbols combine with translucent overlays to end with a light going out in an old film projector, syncing seamlessly with the lyrics and vibe of the soundtrack.

Terminal Serious‘ third album will be released, CD & Digital, on October 3, 2025 via Swiss Dark Nights.
