Video Of The Day WORLD, INTERRUPTED
After a couple of EPs via the cult Berlin label Detriti, the Industrial Darkwave duo from Warsaw, Poland, formed in 2020, World, Interrupted foretastes the forthcoming release of their long-awaited debut studio album “Sorrow, Bring Me Joy”, due out on October 23, via Requiem Records, with an Official Video by Bouli for the first single “Shadows of My Mind”, definitely a young band to keep an eye on.
“Shadows of My Mind” delves into a haunting, chilly, sad realm swept by shivering pained synth slithers, oscillating buzzing distorted textures and sinister droning bass swells, rattled by taut tapping kicks and final crashing snares, transforming shadowy female spoken words from cold sensuality to beautiful siren-esque cries and then to wicked, distorted anger, repeating “come and save me” unto a final gasp for life.
In the Official Video by Bouli, symbolic colors and textures overlay a journey through a tenebrous forest of the mind to bring forth the psychological desolation of the soundtrack. Along the way, a fork in the road triggers a sudden backward movement that leads to a black cube mental prison. Inside the tesseract, a woman without legs helplessly waits for a dark figure to come and save her. The effects are trippy with slow swirling motion, geometric shapes, x-ray inversion, and splintering fragments, to twist the angles of perception into new thought forms.
