Video Of The Day VEXATIONS
Edinburgh-based off-kilter Post-punk collective Vexations unveils the new single “Stone Vultures,” the first excerpt from the upcoming debut EP, “A Dream Unearthly,” due on October 17, 2025, via Cruel Nature Records.
Formed in 2023 and named after composer Satie’s infamous piano piece, the Scottish four piece, made of Rayhana Hashmi (vox/bass), Calum Piercy (guitar), David Stockwell (guitar) and Bradley Hillier-Smith (drums), delivers a feverish, erratic yet melodic post-psych sound replete with explosive bursts of noise.
In “Stone Vultures,” esoteric lyrics, as if from an ancient hermit who has travelled the world timelessly, evoke a sense of loneliness, apocalypticism, and hopelessness.

The track unleashes an aggressive surge of a relentlessly tumbling and rolling pace, driven by a galloping, forceful drumming and rumbling bass lines, propelling razor-sharp guitar riffs, that inject fierce noise-soaked climaxes and adrenaline-fueled painful whirlpools of squall and clangour, to overwhelm knowing spoken words, turning to crazy, terrified screams, with chaotic storms of ominous revelations.
In the Official Video for “Stone Vultures,” an array of vintage black and white horror movie still shots shuffles in sync with the frenetic momentum of the soundtrack to evoke a sense of fear, eeriness, and disorientation at the hands of death and transformation.
Vexations‘ debut EP, “A Dream Unearthly,” will be released in Cassette & Digital formats on October 17, 2025, via Cruel Nature Records.
