Ocean Daze, the Oslo, Norway-based Indie Rock outfit established in 2020 by Kamilla Santiago Neeraas, follows last July’s single “I Saw You” with an Official Video by Matthew Avery Thompson and Hansine Killingmoe Såstad for “The Longing (Death)”, blending shadowy, sensual and mesmeric Dream Pop fascinations with shimmering Shoegaze vertigo.

“The Longing (Death)” engulfs in the heart-rending, haunting melancholy of consuming love, swaying with the sad, reflective and shadowy aura sent forth by the trembling, weeping reverberations from wistful glistening guitars, layered with gentle, somber hypnotic strums and stumbling drum beats, slow building into a sweeping, chilly and misty catharsis around soft, beautiful, soaring female vocals, longing for a loved one who is gone.
In the black and white video, by Matthew Avery Thompson and Hansine Killingmoe Såstad, Kamilla Santiago Neeraas mourns the loss of a friend on the lakeshore of a wooded area. An empty bench, tall evergreen trees, and a cloudy sky over reflective waters create a symbolic backdrop for the singer as she places her hand lovingly on a ring around her neck, stirring the soul with heartache, tears, and tragedy.
