Video Of The Day Monochrome Lover
Monochrome Lover is a trio based out of Houston, Texas, who blend bleak pulsating post-punk rhythms with sparkling shoegaze guitar lines over seductive female vocals, with nods to Toni Halliday of Curve, in an adventurous video shot almost a year ago, before the chaos of COVID19 struck, for the steamy song ‘Scorpion‘ off their upcoming 7-track debut self-titled EP available on Digital from January 1, 2021.
Slashing metronomic drum machines pound ceaselessly, interspersed by obsessively throbbing crispy percussive patterns and quick pinpoint off-tempo deep bass pulses, while seething and penetrating reverb-strewn guitar melodies shimmer and fluctuate along with ethereal, breathy and sensual female vocals imitating the painful pleasure derived from the poisonous sting of a “Scorpion.”
DIY video filmed with RCA Hi8Pro View on 8mm blends black and white moods with static time-lapsed distractions over a road trip from Houston to Galveston, where breaking free from modern dystopian city life and mass consumerist temptations lead to new discoveries and shared experiences.
