Lovespells, the Hamburg, Germany-based Dark Wave / Synth Pop side project of German-Brazilian Soprano vocalist, poetic lyricist, and visual artist Gloria de Oliveira, along with producer, synthesist, and organist Spampoets, returns with a music video by Gloria de Oliveira herself for the new single “White Hands”, via her DIY label La Double Vie, a song inspired by Ancient Greek myths and the medieval tale of Tristan & Iseult.

The delicate yet onerous heart-rending “White Hands” is a harrowing introspection wept in self-betrayal, stirred by the beautiful, fragile hopelessness of Gloria’s Soprano vocals, softly radiating amidst slightly rising piercing cries, sitting atop a haunting, gloomy landscape, grounded by a slow stumbling, tinny beat pulsing at its core, layered with sinister Harmonium droning bass spirals, soaring shivering glowing strings, and dire icy organ melodies, to bring forth the perpetual desperation of the lyrics.
The Official Music Video directed and edited by Gloria de Oliveira herself, who is also the star, uses an imaginative array of lights, shadows, and layering to create a timeless, surreal realm where a dark-haired beauty gracefully poses against a variety of intimate settings. A delicate script describes the pain suffered by the heroine, whilst the strategic use of color and temperature gives both a ghostly and angelic aura, syncing seamlessly with the Medieval soundtrack.
