Formed in London in 2020, Inanis Yoake, a duo made of the Italian musician from Rome, Simone Skeleton (guitars, vocals, sounds) and Risa Hara (piano, synths, vocals), have painsteakingly crafted in the space of two studio albums, “In a Summer’s Silence” (late 2020) and “How Things Seem” (early 2023), an atmospheric and melancholic intriguing blend of Post Punk/Darkwave and Synth Wave, enhanced by the collaboration with established artists such as Matt Howden (Sieben), Toshi JC (The Professionals), Emiko Ota (Oxz), Vivienne Cure, Tony Wakeford (Sol Invictus) and Michael Aliani (Chiron /ex IKON), the latter two will feature also in the next opus.
Inanis Yoake returns, after a two-year hiatus, with a video for “Lost In The Twilight”, the second excerpt from the forthcoming third album, “Shallow Mist,” scheduled for release September 12, 2025, via Dark Vinyl Records.
“Lost In The Twilight” stirs a doomy melancholy in which haunting, pain-filled guitars reverb atop a vibrant, stark downtempo pace of stumbling percussions, trembling bass glows, and dire, mournful piano stabs, engulfing desolate male vocals, shifting, during a romantic chorus of reflective swirling and swelling mists, to warm devotion with female haloes, in an exploration of emptiness, fear, silence, and truth.
Thought-provoking black and white visuals blend eerie nighttime storm footage with a cryptogram of symbolic imagery and mysterious lights and shadows to bring forth the tragic sentiments of the soundtrack. A fog-laden city at night cloaks a shadowy figure in anonymity, whilst fire destroys what was once held sacred. Raindrops extinguish the flames, causing coal-colored ashes to stain and obscure shattered reflections. Lights flicker ominously with a strained connection; a sign that death is waiting on the near horizon.
Inanis Yoake‘s third album, “Shallow Mist,” will be released in CD & Digital formats on September 12, 2025, via Dark Vinyl Records.
