The Milan-based, Italian Gothic Rockers Hidden House, born in 2019, comprised of Fran (vocals and guitar) and Giò (vocals, programming and bass), returns after two years with an Official Video for the new single “Mirror Cracks.”
Dealing with liminal space between reality and dreams, “Mirror Cracks” weaves an ominously cold and hazy melancholic aura, compelled by stacked marching beats, chugging bass lines, and emotional trembling intervals of dire, wistful guitar melodies, to permeate downtrodden vocals, and wicked whispers, with dull misty gloom until a final impassioned cry rings through the darkness.
In the Official Video, Hidden House performs “Mirror Cracks” under a mix of lights and shadows. As a storm brews on the distant horizon, two men, one wearing black, the other white, walk on separate pathways to an unknown destination. During the surreal journey, red paint is applied onto a white canvas, covering it entirely. Then, purple lines are drawn to represent strikes or falls into darkness, syncing symbolically with the revelation of the soundtrack.
