Track/Video Of The Day HEIMBERG
Strasbourg-based, French dark Post-punk three-piece Heimberg unveils the anticipated debut album, “Faceless,” due out October 31, via Icy Cold Records, with the harrowing, harshly textured guitar-laden first single, “Fragrance”, a song about self-hatred, feelings of failure, and loss of hope.
“Fragrance” simmers and agonizes through the tightly wound resonant echoes from excruciating ringing guitar chugs, achingly coursing over guttural grim bass throbs and tight lashing drum patterns, while hoarse, groveling heavy moans layer in and out with light soaring pain-filled emotions.
In the DIY Official Video, a circular silver platter with rose petals around the edge, three candles burning, and a cup of red wine set the stage for a sunrise blood rose ceremony. An arrangement of symbols, reflections, and inversions is woven throughout the vision, including a dead flower blocking out the sun and an unlit candle trying to be ignited by the sun, syncing seamlessly with the heartbroken lyrics of the soundtrack.
Keep up with Heimberg:
