WL//WH Video Of The Day: THE BLACK CAPES “LAMENT X1” (Official Video)

Video Of The Day   THE BLACK CAPES

The Black Capes, the experienced Athens, Greece-based Gothic Rock band formed in 2016 and led by Alex S. Wamp, returns from a three year abyss, with an Official Video by Sergio Ko and Please Insert Coin for the mournful new single “LAMENT XI”, “a requiem of shadows, a hymn for the lost”, via darkTunes Music Group.

Echoing the ghostly echoes of TWIN TRIBES and SHE PAST AWAY, while honoring the haunted grandeur of THE SISTERS OF MERCY and FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM, this track is a sonic funeral for a fallen friend.

A heartbreaking goodbye to a dear friend, with whom many good times were shared, “LAMENT X1” impels jagged, effect-filled, ringing guitars, underpinned by vibrant strains of sonorous, throbbing bass lines and punchy drum beats, to anxiously bleed over sober pain-filled baritones that soar into a tragic, heartfelt regret.

A tribute to lost souls and broken bonds, Lament XI transforms grief into a gothic rock elegy— driven by powerful, echo-drenched guitars and deep, mournful vocals that resonate like a funeral bell in the dark.

live at London’s The Star and Garter

In the Official Video by Sergio Ko and Please Insert Coin, The Black Capes perform Lament XI under a moody mix of lights and shadows. A veil of cobwebs hangs across the penetrating stare of Alex S. Wamp, as he gravely looks into the camera to bring forth the Gothic dirge-y atmosphere of the soundtrack.
