Involved in a multifaceted assembly of solo projects under different monikers like Cult of Flesh (Post-Black Doom Metal), Dove (Ambient /Shoegaze /Post-Rock), Mimico (Dark Folk /Dungeon Synth), as well part of the Sludgy Hardcore trio Heathens, Catalan dynamic musician based in Vilafranca Del Penedès has at his disposal a wide array of sound elements to combine and manipulate in his latest Post-Punk /Cold Synth Wave venture Vasto Profundo.
The new and third single, “Nostalgia”, develops the buzzing electronic core of the previous track, “Humo”, by adding witch house vibes of dazzling abysmal chasms, whilst soulful lyrics travel through the halls of lost love to discover a dull, dreary, and unrestful existence of nothingness.
Introduced by evocative crystalline arpeggios over muted kicks fading into steadily crisp snare hits along with syncopated, undulating droning basslines staggering desolately, pierced by chorus-laden mournful glistening guitar slivers, waxing and waning with dramatic, blinding and swelling glacial washes of synth-filled angst, enshrouding deaden, distorted vocals hiding in the darkness of melancholy and despair to avoid overwhelming surges of nostalgia and pain.
