Track Of The Day The Virginia Planes
Heidelberg-based Dream Pop / Shoegaze duo, The Virginia Planes, drops their second single of the year, titled “Cause Of Last Summer”, which, lyric-wise, deals with how being silent can set you free from the toxicity of mind games.
The German unit painstakingly blends orthodox, lush and noisy Shoegaze wall of sound, with contemplative and surreal Dream Pop visions, redolent with layered and swooping majestic guitar radiance, to provide a dizzy enveloping contour to a magnetic female vocal pull of spellbinding incorporeal bliss.
The atmospheric and consuming “Cause Of Last Summer” prompts tight insistent drums that compel tumultuous crashing waves of misty distortion, fading into sparkling, wistful melodies, weeping and echoing aloft a lonesome starry sky, to swell and burst against vibrant bittersweet streams of dreamy female vocals, layered with short-tempered anger, while an insistent hopping of clattering percussions intrudes almost halfway, urging the smoldering and swirling reverberating aura into a cathartic quietness.
