Track Of The Day THE MELODY CHAMBER
Even if, over time, we have taken totally different sonic paths, the sounds of your youth always hang around you like a perpetual pulsating heart immune to obsolescence, of which you will never get tired.
After reviving his folk roots with the sophomore album of his Americana-tinged effort The Grain Hoppers, the Richmond, Virginia alternative music scene mainstay and vocalist/rhythm guitarist of The Silent Boys, Wallace Dietz, returns with the new project The Melody Chamber, together with Dan-O Deckelman (Guitars, keyboards, backing vocals), already contributor to the making of The Silent Boys’ “Sand to Pearls, Coal to Diamonds” as well as Wallace’s partner at Sound of Music Studios, drummer Blee Child and bassist Randy Mendicino.
The upcoming The Melody Chamber‘s debut self-titled album, due out on November 7, features 10 exhilarating songs deftly created with a fond affection for the late 70s/80s New Wave/Post-punk sound immortalized by iconic bands such as Echo & The Bunnymen, The Church, The Psychedelic Furs, The Smiths, REM, The Cure, and New Order, sure to feed our heart and soul.
The first captivating foretaste, “Memories of Fall,” describes bittersweet Autumn recollections through a lens of joy, sorrow, and courage.
A song that infectiously breathes fluid and crispy heartfelt guitar rock immediacy, instigated by springy drums bouncing away with a thick throbbing bassline, to wobble with minimal, echoing sparkling riffs, crystalline jangly arpeggios, wandering stirring spindly flourishes and emotive glowing keyboards, soaring into a swirling surreal sky of emotional radiant resonance atop both excited and wistful, thoughtful husky vocal nostalgia.
The Melody Chamber‘s first self-titled album will be released on November 7 via French independent label Too Good To Be True (Ltd. Vinyl LP & Ltd. CD), in collaboration with US label Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records (Ltd. Vinyl LP). Both formats are already on pre-order.
Keep up with The Melody Chamber:
