Following the stunning debut “I Am A Road” earlier this year, recorded with Lachlan Mitchell of The Jezabels, LORELEI, the Australian dream pop project of Sidney-based Claudia Schmidt and Arlen McCarthy have just dropped their sophomore single “Skylight”.
“Skylight” deals with a woman, walking down memory lane who realizes that, despite breaking up, her relationship will never and always be over.
Propelled by vigorously sturdy drums and replenished by slinky deep bassline, energetic lush, sweeping guitar riffs coaxed into sunbursts of glistening jangly melodies, as heartfelt, yet harshly stricken, sultry coos, lost in hazily endearing disenchantment, drift over quivered and wailing guitar progressions exhaling achingly stark reverberations of hopeless love high in the ‘skylight’.
Lorelei confirm and refines their magnetic and poignant style of dream-pop, seamlessly dark, passionate and catchy.
