WL//WH Track Of Day: DISSOLVE “Too Far Gone”

WL//WH Track Of Day  DISSOLVE

“Too Far Gone” is the first foray, via Glasgow’s Vaporgaze Records,  by Dissolve, the solo venture by Dave Snedden, guitarist and frontman of Edinburgh‘s Post Shoegaze outfit, Catharsis.

Taking cues from 90s/00s alternative-rock /shoegaze bands such as MBV, Nothing, Whirr, Deftones, Sleepwalk, Trauma Ray, and Cloakroom, the Scottish musician coalesces forceful distortions, excruciating feedback and a lethargic yet emotional vocal delivery.

Lyric-wise, “Too Far Gone is about the intense frustration felt when fire and passion fail after a fall.

Ghostly reverberations of angsty, gloom-laden vocals, slowly yet vigorously washed over by a blaring and churning eruption of mind-melting fuzz-laden guitar riffs and stabbing, wailing leads, hauntingly soar, struggling to stay afloat, before falling hopelessly under the weight of a thickly coated blanket of fatal distortion.
