WL//WH Premiere STRANGE FUTURES

Strange Futures, the Bristol, UK-based Synth Punk-tinted Darkwave duo of Alastair Power and Alice Sheridan, keep on bringing dark beats, arresting basslines and ethereal melodies together with disarming lyrics, in the second single, “Scrap Metal,” lifted from the forthcoming “Art of Love” EP, due out on March 4th, paired with a gripping DIY Official Video, WL//WH is pleased to premiere.

An emotionally charged “industrial-tinged surrealist ode to navigating the dystopian reality we find ourselves in,”
“Scrap Metal” deploys the obsessive, snappy bounce of a wobbly bassline swinging along with sharp, lashing snares to ratchet up a high-strung, simmering tension, layered with an icy, flashing and haunting drift of desolate synths and screeching spirals, around Alice’s signature female vocal power rant, explaining how the system pushes people to act like robots by rewarding efficiency over passion.
The symbolic DIY Official Video shows Strange Futures performing “Scrap Metal” under an array of perception-distorting filters. A robot is constructed using tin foil and masking tape with two eyes looking like sad suns drawn on top. Then, a blurry tunnel appears with a shadowy figure walking in the distance toward a light before dissociative sections cast in orange and blue lights appear as a false escape, syncing seamlessly with the dystopic soundtrack.
Strange Futures‘ new single, “Scrap Metal”, taken from the forthcoming “Art of Love“ EP, scheduled for release on March 4, 2026, is out now on all major sharing platforms.Keep up with Strange Futures:
