- Salerno, Italy shoegaze /jangly dream-pop solo project I’m the Villain “Breathin” second single from the upcoming LP
The latest of the two recently dropped singles, following the jangly arpeggiated guitar-laden“Guitar falling on the floor”, is the emotional-ridden mid-tempo, synthy dreampop sound of “Breathin” that unfolds a crisp hypnotic drum machine and undulating, chugging bass loops, layered with nostalgic glowing synths and glistening sad guitar melodies, swirling and reverberating atop wistful, pensive vocals searching for meaning whilst letting go.
- Norway‘s 4-piece indie pop band centered on the songwriting brothers Ole Johannes and Jørn Åleskjær (also of The Loch Ness Mouse and collaborators of The Ladybug Transistor‘s Gary Olson), The Quarterlies “Keep Nothing” sophomore single taken from the upcoming EP via Greek label Old Bad Habits
Second endearing single of breezy, stringed shimmery guitar-pop, inlaid with fizzing layers of bittersweet jangling melodies, and freeing distorted nostalgic flourishes, spliced with brief restive scraping riffs, pulses and sways alongside secretive, excited vocals getting rid of diaries to make room for a journey.
- New York 4-piece grungegaze band Glimmer “Sorrow Again” single
New York 4-piece ushers in their July European tour by continuing to push the envelope of their noisy blend of dense shoegaze textures and melodic grunge heaviness, rooted in ’90s aesthetics, along with a sweet knack for harmonizing with wit and restraint, loud energy and dusty melancholy. A nagging sadness looms just below the surface of a shallow life, driving tumultuous emotional sways of stumbling rhythms and restrained crunchy and wailing fuzz-drenched guitar riffs, to carry anxious doom-laden vocals through waves of struggle and endless sorrow.
