The Hamburg, Germany-based enigmatic masked duo returns with a DIY Official Music Video for “Papier Glacé”, the second single since last May’s debut 10-track album “Acme”, via the German independent label Cold Transmission Music.
As we well know, SIIE churns out an eclectic, high-energy dance-ready fusion of electrifying modern electronica and moody darkwave, swathed in melancholy and allure.
Edgy and dissociative moods march stacked crisp beats alongside obsessively throbbing bass drones, that creep and bounce under emotional swirls of jagged strobing synth melodies, sad icy chimes and echoing cinematic tones, while expressive French female vocals powerfully describe how modern people hope to become a star.
In the Official Music Video, SIIE performs “Papier Glacé inside a multi-level parking garage with their signature sequin and studded masks cloaking their identity. A partly sunny blue sky illuminates geometric architectures as spinning camerawork captures the duo dancing in urban streetwear with their shadows.
