Track Of The Day : Neon Lies “Day They Built A Wall”

Track Of The Day

Neon Lies is the DIY one man project of former Modern Delusion guitarist Goran Lautar from Zagreb.

Using a minimal set-up of old analogue synths and drum-machine, he effectively blurs the boundaries between time and between darkwave, synth-punk and minimal synth.

In “Day They Built A Wall”, taken by the new cassette/digital sophomore album ‘II’ via Berlin’s Black Verb Records, Goran envelopes alienating, shadowy electronic sound treatments in a minimalistic dose of repetitive driving synth-bass and drum patterns, evoking an haze of unsettling and challenging brooding emotions, deepened by intense vocals and abrupt bursts of noise, capturing the inner essence of late 70’s NYC synth-punk into an extremely imaginative and intriguingly distinctive darkened and gloomy experimental sound.

A must have for any dark-synth fanatic.
