WL//WH Video of the Day: PROJECT DIEM “Dead Pop” (Official Music Video)

Video of the Day  PROJECT DIEM

Formed in 2017,  Project Diem, the dreamy Indie Rock outfit from Brooklyn, NY, made of Dominic Dellaquila (Guitars/Synths), Meghan Seeberg (Vocals/Lyrics), Leah Kolchinsky (Vocals), Luke Gefell (Drums), and Aaron Sankin (Bass), teases the  release of the band’s upcoming sophomore album, the first recorded as a five piece, due out on August 22, 2025, with an Official Music Video by Emily Christian & Anders Kapur for the lead single and title track “Dead Pop.”

The electrifying, dreamy power-pop of “Dead Pop” explores how it feels when a relationship keeps going dark, eliciting a gush of turbulent, noisy and hazy moods that rush through a meandering vibrant wall-of-sound of tight punchy drum beats, high-energy thrumming strums, fuzzy, ringing, and abrasively piercing guitar tones, and radiating keyboard glows, to swirl around angsty open-hearted harmonies, and a soaring dramatic emotional support, trying to look at things from a different perspective.

The retro fright-filled visuals by Emily Christian and Anders Kapur star Ryder Houston and Lizzy Kircher as a young romantic couple, who are followed by the fabled detectives Holmes and Watson, played by Meghan Seeberg and Dominic Dellquila themselves. The question Vampires: Myth or Reality is on a Coney Island newspaper clipping tacked to a wall with red strings that connect the dots between other crime scenes. After following clues around a seaside amusement park, the sleuths solve the crime and drive a stake through the heart of the vampire. But the excitement is not over as, unbeknownst to the heroes, the girl is infected and has become a bloodthirsty creature herself. A real scary, at times gory, and nostalgic retro quality, courtesy of cinematographer Anders Kapur and costumist Sofia Kapur, makes this clip a must see while it syncs seamlessly with the soundtrack.

Project Diem celebrate their “Dead Pop” album release at Brooklyn‘s The Broadway with support from Lily Jean, Moon Sand Land Endearments on August 28th. Tickets are available at this link.

Keep up with Project Diem:
