Video Of The Day ECHOBERYL
Echoberyl, the Paris-based dramatic Dark Wave duo made of Adriano Iacoangeli and Cecilia Dassonneville, share their usual Halloween-themed video, painstakingly crafted by Adriano (aka Fluidghost) himself, for “The Nightmare Queen”, a song inspired by Johann Heinrich Fuseli‘s famous painting “The Nightmare.”

“The Nightmare Queen” drives stacked marching beats and chugging bass lines under a swirling array of spooky synth tones and menacing frequencies, while wicked, angsty female vocals mention Don Quixote’s “fear has many eyes” idea, inviting the listener to ‘fall’ inside themselves, where the demons hide, to see how dread distorts reality.
A nightmarish video, just in time for Halloween, finds Cecilia Dassonneville struggling for control against “The Nightmare Queen.” Adriano Iacoangeli himself constructs a multi-textural ‘alive’ scrapbook to mix and match ghostly bedroom clips with symbolic imagery and suggestive illustrations, exploring how different personalities, buried inside the subconscious, take hold during sleep.
The 3-track EP “The Nightmare Queen“, including a Creepex Remix and Twilight Zone (Alter Version), is out via Mother Solitude Records‘ Bandcamp.
