Video Of The Day COLD CONTRAST
Cold Contrast, the Hungarian Goth / Dark Wave four-piece from Budapest/Gyöngyös, made up of Melinda Ladar (vocals), Márk Baranyai (bass guitar), Marcell Nemesházy (synth & production) and Miklós Pribéli “Makó” (guitar), continues to foretaste their in-progress sophomore album with the second single of the year, “Illusions”, accompanied by the captivating dreamlike Official Video by Krisztina Balázs.

A melancholic, darkly oneiric ballad glinting in the shadows, laced with swirls of hope and hints of menace, that stirs stark clattering and thumping drum patterns and slithering sonorous bass lines, wrapped by icy waves of dire ringing melodies, flickering wistfully over layers of sad, anxious female vocals, wondering if a savior is real or just “Illusions”.
In the visuals created by Krisztina Balázs, Melinda Ladar dances gracefully like a green goddess against an organic countryside overlain with vibrant flowers. Shuffled into the euphoric vision is an urban setting where Ladar wears black while the rest of Cold Contrast hold an orb that turns the vision upside down, syncing seamlessly with the dueling realities explored in the soundtrack.
