Das Fluff is the London/Berlin ‘post-punk electro filth’ project of front-woman and composer Dawn Lintern, who, in order to celebrate the release of the brand new album and the 10th anniversary of the band, have just dropped the music video, directed by Christian Ruland and Dawn Lintern herself, for the title track “Maximum Damage.”
Deep oscillating bassline treason obsessively carries ominous pounding beats and mechanical rhythmic clanks down a disastrous path, toward distorted witchy female vocals that tempt and tease, with dark allure and menace, to spin dangerously out of control into an electronic dance track consumed with cursed sensibilities.
Convincing lyrics release a heated inner dialogue to reveal the unconscious behaviour patterns that fuel a toxic relationship and the struggle for power that occurs in a willing participant.
Dawn Lintern brings fierce dance choreography, dramatic costume and makeup, and some serious attitude to the shimmering gold set of “Maximum Damage.” Bold metallic walls surround the destructive diva as strategic camera angles and time-lapse dimensions build tension and bursts of latent aggression to the disturbing broken doll poses in an irreverent expulsion of psychological misfortune.
