Track Of The Day INDOOR VOICES
Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist and sound sculptor Jonathan Relph, under the Indoor Voices moniker, gives a first glimpse of the forthcoming album, “Terrors,” scheduled for release via Leeds, UK-based artist collective 1991 Recordings in late 2025 / early 2026.
The new single, “Flakey,” marks a more collaborative effort with the added voice of Los Angeles‘ Hannah Montijo (Something Indigo) and additional layers of dreamy guitars by Canadian musician James Callan (Prepare My Glider), to beautifully draw an atmospheric, vibrant vertigo of lush, immaculate 6-string textures floating towards boundless, mesmerizing horizons.
The lyrics play with double and triple negatives to explore consciousness, fear, and care.
Steady, hypnotic rhythmic patterns, alongside tightly pulsing bass lines, outline a sinuous, shivering lapping of intertwined sidereal guitar harmonies of dreamlike and contemplative reverberating tones, gliding with a resonant, dazzling undertow laced with bittersweet emotions, washing over gentle, celestial vocals, layered with feather light female breathes, to radiate the ether with calm support through an immersive, trembling overflow.
